Valley View Christian Fellowship Calls the Fritz’s

Upon hearing that Harry had been called to minister at VVCF, Brigitte discussed the move and put the matter into the Lord’s hands. “I believe that God has conditioned me through these years in NC to have the heart of a pastor’s wife. We are ready for this assignment —In early October 2009, Harry received a phone call from Pastor Jürgen Ringmann, Pastor of the Valley View Christian Fellowship (VVCF) in Tacoma. Both men had become friends over the years; now Pastor Jürgen was relating his plans to retire in 2010.

“How about you coming to Tacoma to replace me as Pastor of this church?” Pastor Jürgen asked. A long conversation followed, but by the end of the call, a basic plan had been developed regarding next steps and when they would be in touch to resume the conversation we have visited this church and even spent an extended stay serving the church for 3 weekends while the Ringmanns were in Europe.  It seems like a homecoming!”

In November the appointment to Tacoma was confirmed by the church and the German District Assemblies of God. Brigitte and Harry were grateful when their home in Raleigh sold after the first weekend’s showing in January 2010. They believe it to be the Lord’s sign that this is an open door for their relocation.

As planned, they visited the church and parish home Jan 27 to Feb 1 where they were introduced to the church members. Harry was asked to preach in the 9:30am German service; his topic: “Hast Du mich lieb?”. In the English service at 11am, Harry’s topic was “The Sower and the Seed.” A luncheon followed the services and a number of attendees stayed to fellowship with their soon-to-be pastoral couple.

During their recent stay in Tacoma, a German church group based in Olympia, WA asked Pastor Harry and Brigitte to do monthly services in their community once they have relocated to Washington. In principle, there is agreement and the details will be worked out when they arrive.

Did you know?

  • That Valley View Christian Fellowship offered Harry a Youth Pastor position in 1978 if he would have
accepted a job in Seattle that was offered to him by a former boss.
  • The H Fritz family spent 3 weekends in Tacoma as Harry substituted for Pastor Ringmann in 1992,
  • That Harry was asked to serve as pastor of VVCF when the Ringmann’s sought to  retire in 1998
    — but Brigitte was focused on relocating to North Carolina.
  • The 3rd call from VVCF came along with God’s perfect timing — they are excited to be ministering in
    Tacoma in 2010!
